“L’ou com balla”
“L’ou com balla” (“dancing egg”) is one of the most unique and ancient traditions of Barcelona (celebrated since 1637). During the celebrations of Corpus there is a tradition that consists of making eggs dance on top of the spouts of water issuing from fountains located in cloisters, patios and gardens which are decorated with flowers.

Designed by Foster and Partners, the magnificient steel and glass roof of the British Museum‘s Great Court is formed of 3,312 panes of glass. It has a unique geometry and allows the natural light to illuminate and open up the space.

While walking in Barcelona you just need to look up a little bit and enjoy the hidden gems you can find in its facades, main doors, frames and windows. The hidden gem shown in the picture is to the left of “Palau Macaya’s” main door. It shows the figure of a cyclist and hides a beautiful story. It was a gift from the sculptor to the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch who was, at he same time, building another art nouveau building (“Casa Ametller”) and used to ride from one construction site to the other on a bicycle.
